I love to dig in and see how artists worked in the past and extract and use some of their techniques.  Master Copying has always been a part of learning as a student. Peter Paul Rubens did over 450 copies in his illustrious career. I try to do at least one every 6 months or so,  so here are a few Master Copies that I've done over the past few years. J. C. I just completed this painting of a Blue Ballet Squash. The color of the squash struck me so I just had to buy it and paint it. It is hanging in the Albright Gallery in Concord MA. I will be in the December 2012 Issue of The Artists Magazine as I placed in the 29th Annual Artists Magazine Annual Art Competition this year with an Honorable Mention in the Still Life/Floral category. There is a small article written about me and some tips for painting.
